Evaluation of seabuckthorn leaves for animal fodder under cold arid conditions

Seabuckthorn is a wild bush found in abundance in Ladakh. The female plants are being exploited for their fruits for preparation of beverage while the male plants (50% population) does not have any commercial use.
In this cold arid region there is an acute shortage of fodder.
The fodder value of leaves of male seabuckthorn was thus analysed for their potential as animal fodder. Results have revealed the high potential of the leaves as fodder. Details of the study shall gbe presented in the seminar.
