The seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) together with black currant and dogroses belong to a number of few horticultural cultures which fruits contain several vitamins in the quantities having prophylactic and therapeutic significance. Seabuckthorn leaves are also widely used. In the review article the data on its official and popular use are presented, viz. the brief description of official preparations and 47 popular recipes are submitted. The main objective of the article is the popularization of seabuckthorn among scientific community and all strata of society.
