Die Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer des Sanddorns - Sanddorn e.V. wurde am 11.01.2000 in Berlin / Bundesrepublik Deutschland als Plattform und Interessengemeinschaft für Personen und Unternehmen gegründet, die in der Forschung über und der Herstellung von Produkten aus Sanddorn sowie in Züchtung und Anbau dieses Rohstoffes tätig oder daran interessiert sind. Mit einer Satzungsänderung auf der Mitgliederversammlung vom 14.02.2006 erweiterte der Verein seinen Tätigkeitsbereich auch auf das Fachgebiet Wildobst und führt seither den Namen: "Sanddorn e.V.- Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Sanddorn und Wildobst".

The German Society for Seabuckthorn and Wild Fruits - "Sanddorn e.V." was founded in 2000 in Berlin / Germany by scientists and entrepreneurs, interested in research on seabuckthorn and its potential economic development. During the Delhi Workshop on Seabuckthorn in 2001 the "Sanddorn e.V." became one of the co-founders of the International Seabuckthorn Association (I.S.A.) and, together with the major universities, the proud organizer of the 1st I.S.A.- Congress in Berlin in 2003 and of the 6 st I.S.A.-Congress in Potsdam in 2013. But nowadays the German Seabuckthorn Society is not a German-only-organization! We are proud to have a total of about 60 members - from Argentina, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Latvia, The Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and the United States of America. This is an impressive expression of the successful development of a society, which operates truly internationally
